Common Questions:
What is Lateral Analysis?
A lateral analysis is the calculation of the lateral forces (wind and earthquake loads) to provide a system to transfer lateral loads and overturning forces to the foundation, and to prevent building collapse in extreme wind and seismic events.
Do I need Lateral Analysis?
If your plan does not meet the “prescriptive path” for lateral bracing as described in the IRC it will require a complete Lateral Analysis.
What is Gravity Analysis?
Gravity analysis if the calculation of gravity loads or the “vertical forces” that act on a structure, such as snow or even the weight of the structure itself. This allows us to provide a system to transfer the vertical loads to the foundation.
